the pct

scout, who dropped us off at the trail head, told us the pct is the "perpetually curvy trail." in fact, there is little straight or flat about this trail so far. i know it's coming, but we've just been winding our way up and down and around these mountains at a decent slope with lots of switchbacks. the vegetation changes with the altitude. the first day was the lowest and had the most diversity. the plants were really enchanting to me, like they were there to entice me onto the pct. there are some plants that look like cousins of plants i know. i have identified poison oak, at least two kinds of sage, and saw datura today about to bloom. there are a million tiny flowers along the sides of the trail and some really giant yucca. flower pictures will be up when moss has cell service. later.
